I Forgot I Had This.

I forgot I took this picture. It was in an airport bookstore in Asia somewhere (either Hong Kong or Singapore, I think). Now it's time for fun and games. What's odd about this picture?

If you guessed it, your cheque is in the mail. If not...ponder for a while the "Asian Interest" signage above the shelf. Then let your gaze rest on the second shelf from the top. Now let your gaze wander over to the yellow book on the far-left side of that shelf...the book by Kazuo Ishiguro. It's actually his latest book, Never Let Me Go, which is set in England in the future and has no identifiably Asian characters in it at all. Kazuo Ishiguro is also recognised as a British novelist, even though he was born in Japan (he moved to London at the age of 5).

All right...to be fair, the title and author of the book are rather blurry in the photo. You'll receive half the cheque in the mail. The other half has been donated to the KitchenAid corporation on your behalf.

What does "Asian Interest" even mean anyway?
